Eurofins Radon Testing is today a global competence center for radon questions. Here we carry out accredited radon measurements for your home and/or workplace. We at Eurofins Radon Testing are a driven and wonderful team that constantly works to improve flows and tools so that our customers can perform and register their measurements in the best possible way.
We have not always belonged to the Eurofins Group, originally the company was called MRM Konsult, in 2016 MRM Konsult was acquired by Eurofins. MRM Konsult's history is a history that we cherish and which is close to our hearts.
Our History
In 1990, the Swedish government announced that they were closing down some of their operations, with part of the SGAB (Swedish Geological Institute) in Luleå being closed down. The staff were then faced with two options, either they had to quit and find a new job or they were given the opportunity to take over the business.
12 people joined forces and formed MRM Konsult AB in 1991, they were offered to take over instruments, furniture and everything they previously had in order to continue running the business themselves. MRM Konsult also brought with them the method used for radon measurement of indoor air called track etch methodic and thus became the first private company in the world with this method! This period was characterised by creativity and innovation as it was also the first in Europe to develop a method for measuring radon levels in soil. Today, the board of directors is based in Luleå, Sweden.
Quality
Quality is important in the work of both MRM Konsult and Eurofins Radon today, as shown in our various accreditations. In the mid-1990s, MRM Konsult decided to accredit the method and that quality stamp is still there today!
Eurofins - a Global Player
In 2016, MRM chose to sell its laboratory to Eurofins, which had been looking for a lab that met their requirements for a few years. Today, Eurofins Radon Testing is one of the world's largest players in the market with one of Europe's most modern and automated laboratories - which would not have been possible without MRM Konsult.
